If your computer doesn't automatically detect the new hardware, open the "Control Panel" and then select "Printers and Hardware." Click on the "Add Printer" option and allow your computer to detect and install the new printer. Some printers even have a small installation package in the printer itself to allow you to install the full software package this way. If your computer shows an automatic message saying it "found new hardware," you can click on this balloon and install from there. When the computer has fully started up, connect the printer with a USB cable, then turn on the printer.Turn on the computer, but leave the printer off.Make sure the printer and computer are both plugged in and ready to go.
